
2026 Share Your Story Video Grant Challenge Winners!
At the Community Foundation of North Florida, we know strong communities start with strong nonprofits. That’s why we created the Share Your Story Video Grant Challenge, This is an opportunity to spotlight the incredible work local organizations are doing to support individuals and families with low-to-moderate incomes.
In partnership with Prime Meridian Bank, now MidFlorida Credit Union, we are awarding ten $1,500 grants to nonprofits serving low-to-moderate income individuals in Leon County. These grants give organizations a little extra support to keep doing what they do best: changing lives.

Bond CHC is committed to improving the health for low-to-moderate income individuals and families in Leon County by reducing barriers to care. Through mobile health services, community outreach, preventive care, behavioral health support, and resource navigation, Bond CHC brings essential healthcare and support services directly into the community. By partnering with local organizations and connecting residents to food, social services, and other critical resources, Bond CHC helps ensure equitable access to care and promotes healthier, more stable lives.

Children’s Home Society – Sabal Palm
Children’s Home Society of Florida supports low-to-moderate income families in Leon County by providing integrated services through its Community Partnership Schools, including Sabal Palm Elementary. By connecting families to resources such as food assistance, healthcare, mental health services, academic support, and basic needs, the organization helps remove barriers to success and promote family stability. Through strong community partnerships and a whole-child, whole-family approach, CHS improves student outcomes while building stronger, more resilient families.

Elder Care Services supports low-to-moderate income seniors in Leon County by providing essential low or no cost services that promote independence and reduce financial hardship. Programs such as Meals on Wheels, in-home assistance, transportation to medical appointments, affordable adult day care, and emergency support help seniors meet their daily needs and remain safely at home. Through case management and community-based services, Elder Care Services connects older adults to critical resources while fostering social connection and improving quality of life.

Javacya Arts Conservatory serves more than 350 low-to-moderate income youth in Leon and Jefferson counties by providing high-quality music education and eliminating financial and logistical barriers to arts access. Through innovative programs like The Music Box mobile piano laboratory and instruction from accomplished musicians and educators, students receive elite training, mentorship, and performance opportunities. By exposing students to prestigious stages, masterclasses, and pathways to higher education, Javacya equips young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed for lifelong success.

Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend is the only provider of Early Head Start services in Leon County, offering comprehensive early childhood education and care to 104 children and their families. The organization also operates a Three & Pre program that helps bridge the gap in care for children ages 3 to 5. By prioritizing low-income families, including those receiving SNAP benefits, experiencing homelessness, or involved in foster care, Kids Incorporated ensures that vulnerable children have access to high-quality early learning opportunities.

Legacy Playmakers Inc. supports low-to-moderate income families in Leon County by providing affordable and accessible youth development programs that remove barriers to participation in sports, mentorship, and academic enrichment. By partnering with local schools and offering free or scholarship-based programming, the organization eliminates transportation and financial obstacles while creating safe, supportive environments for students. Through leadership development, academic support, and positive mentorship, Legacy Playmakers help young people build confidence, life skills, and pathways to future success regardless of their circumstances.

Little Sunshine Pantries supports community members experiencing food insecurity by increasing access to food through strategically placed micro-pantries in high-need areas. The organization also provides weekly food deliveries to up to 80 households each month to reach individuals and families facing barriers such as transportation challenges, medical issues, or financial hardship. By making food more accessible, Little Sunshine Pantries helps ensure that residents can consistently and adequately meet their basic nutritional needs.

Neighborly provides a support system for low-income individuals and day laborers in Tallahassee through its Breakfast Brigade program. By delivering nutritious breakfasts directly to local labor pools, the program ensures workers do not have to choose between finding employment and accessing a meal. Serving approximately 800 clients annually and supported by more than 300 volunteers, the initiative also connects participants with essential resources while fostering dignity, community, and stability.

At the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance, the Fresh Food Fund (FFF) supports food security by purchasing fresh produce and food products from the Red Hills Online Market to distribute through partner organizations, including Second Harvest of the Big Bend, the FSU Food Pantry (Food for Thought), and the Frenchtown Neighborhood Improvement Association. These partners use established distribution systems to provide nutritious food to individuals and families facing hunger. By sourcing directly from over 100 local farmers and producers within a 100-mile radius of Tallahassee, the program ensures access to fresh, seasonal, and locally grown food while supporting regional agriculture.

The Tallahassee Bail Fund (TBF) supports individuals in Leon County who cannot afford bail, helping reduce the harm of pretrial detention that disproportionately affect marginalized communities. In addition to paying bail, TBF provides care packages and connects individuals to resources such as housing, employment support, transportation, and legal compliance assistance to promote stability during the pretrial period. By combining financial assistance with ongoing support and court-date reminders, the organization helps people remain connected to their lives and communities while awaiting trial.
